I see last night we added another couple of inches of snow. It's all starting to pile up and we heard nothing but positive comments from the sledders we talked to yesterday. We also heard that a good snow squall hit Tahquamenon Falls and they ended up with 12" of snow. It's time to hit the UP trails!!!
Here's a look at NOAA's modeled snow depth for this evening. Check out their NOHRSC Interactive Snow Information for the latest - here's the forecast northern MI and the UP.
Fished last night with a couple of friends out on Muskallonge Lake. Should of hauled the shanties out because it was brutally cold. The three of us sat on our sleds for about two hours and that was enough. We ended up catching several decent perch, some rockbass, and one decent pike.
And, I did hook "Walter" again last night. This fish just about stripped my reel of line on it's first run. I had to tighten down my drag and hope my 8 lb test would hold up, and it did. Five minutes later I worked it almost up to the hole, just to have it come off and swim away.
Don't know what it was, but it was big. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!!!
Come on U.P.!
