The crazy weather continues. This past week has given us mild temps and about an inch of rain. Muskallonge is showing positive effects from the rain. The cove over by the State Park now has water in it, and some of the surrounding low land is showing signs of holding water again. Hopefully, this trend will continue over the course of the winter. We've been fortunate to see a couple of birds of interest lately. As the pictures show, we spotted a "Black Backed Woodpecker" just across the road from us the other day. These birds always seem tolerant of people wanting to take pictures, so I was happy to oblige. Also friendly was this "Snowy Owl" that we spotted down by Muskallonge State Park. And, the colorful Red Crossbills and some Snow Buntings, with their white plumage, are back in the area.
It's our turn for vacation!!! We leave on Friday for two weeks in Florida. One week to spend with Mom down in Naples, helping her out with maintenance around her home. The second week, we'll spend on St. George Island, in the pan-handle, just relaxing doing some fishing and lots of bird watching.
Be well everyone!!!!!!
