Welcome to Deer Park Lodge

Hi - we're Mike and Monica Brown - we've been the owners and operators of Deer Park Lodge since 1992. We take great pride in providing our guests with top-notch cabin accomodations in a family-friendly environment, surrounded by the natural beauty of Muskallonge Lake, nearby Lake Superior, and the beautiful woods of the Upper Peninsula. We're right here.

Many of our bookings are return guests, some of whom have been coming up for a decade or more. But we welcome new visitors and will be happy to introduce you to Deer Park Lodge on beautiful Muskallonge Lake. We look forward to having you join us soon.

You'll find everything you need to know about our Lodge, the General Store, surrounding area, and all the wonderful activities waiting for you by selecting the various categories to the right.

Muskallonge Lake

Sign_lakes We are fortunate to have close to 300 feet frontage on Muskallonge Lake. This is a beautiful spring fed lake which is close to 800 acres in size.  Muskallonge is a relatively shallow lake that holds good numbers of perch, pike, walleye, small mouth bass, rock bass, brown bullheads and white suckers.

Muskallonge_dock Muskallonge is considered more a fishing lake for smaller boats and motors. We see very few big power boats or jet ski's on the water, which makes for peaceful days at the beach and pleasant boating on the lake.

Two thirds of the property surrounding Muskallonge is owned by the state, including nearby Muskallonge Lake State Park, thus there is very little development. Hemlock and pine dominate the forest. Lake and forest scenery abound. The beach is gently sloping and sandy, making it ideal for swimming and beach games. We feature waterfront cabins, a boat dock, and small boat rentals.

The General Store

Store Our well-stocked General Store is open six days a week, to make it easy for you to get away, and to make sure you have what you need while you're here. We carry grocery items and fresh dairy products, as well as packaged liquor, beer, Store_6902_2 and wine. There's first aid and camping supplies, fishing supplies, bait and licenses. Plenty of ice, fire wood, and L.P. gas refills are available as well.

And, our clean, efficient coin operated laundromat is right next door and available for your convenience from Spring through Fall.

The General Store is re-opened for the season, as are the cabins. We have good availability in May, and some great, select openings through the summer. Check the Bulletin Board for news about cancellations. Give us a call and we'll be glad to get you set for your spring and summer get-a-ways to the Upper Peninsula.

Boat Rentals at Deer Park Lodge

We rent Mirror Craft 14 ft aluminum boats with 6 hp Mercury motors. Boats come complete with oars, anchor, one flotation jacket per person and a tank of gas.  These boats work well on Muskallonge Lake. Usually four people is the most we want in a boat.

Boats_sunrise_2 Renting a boat is a great way to fish and see Muskallonge Lake.  Fishing is pretty limited from shore, and a boat is great for trolling or getting to your favorite spot, and provides an enjoyable and relaxing ride around the lake to areas that are not accessible any other way.

Generally we rent by the day. The boats need to be returned prior to the store closing for the day. We will rent for several days at a time. This allows you to keep the boat over at your campsite and use it whenever you wish.

We do allow you to call in advance to reserve a boat for the dates you will be in the area - (906) 658-3341.

Boat Rental Rates

  • $15 per day: Row Boats
  • $50 per day: Boats with motors including a full tank of gas.

Boats are currently pulled out, but they'll be back in the water for the Pike and Walleye Upper Peninsula season opener on May 15th!
